TinPet ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the TinPet mobile application. Please read this policy carefully.

Pet Profile Information
- Pet name, species, breed, age, sex, and color
- Pet photos (up to 5 per pet)
- Vaccination and pedigree declarations
- Bio and breeding goals
Usage Information
- Likes sent and received between pet profiles
- Messages exchanged with matched users
- Meetup scheduling data (date, time, location, notes)
- Photos uploaded to shared match galleries
Device Information
- Device push notification token (for delivering notifications)
- Approximate location (only when using the Nearby Map feature, with your permission)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and pet profiles
- To display your pet profiles to other users in Discovery
- To facilitate matches, messages, and meetup scheduling
- To send push notifications about likes, matches, messages, and meetups
- To provide the Nearby Map feature (approximate location only)
- To process Premium subscription payments
- To improve the app and fix technical issues
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Other users: Your pet profile, name, and city are visible to other TinPet users in Discovery and to matched users in Chat.
- Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication) and Expo (push notifications). These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security policies. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, though no system is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: You can view and edit your profile and pet information at any time within the app.
- Visibility control: You can hide your pet from Discovery at any time using the "Show in Discovery" toggle in your pet's profile.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
- Account deletion: You can delete your account from Settings → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your data within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
TinPet is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
7. Location Data
TinPet requests location access only for the Nearby Map feature. Location is used in real-time to show nearby pets on the map and is never stored on our servers. You can deny location permission without affecting core app functionality.
8. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for likes, matches, new messages, meetup invitations, and meetup reminders. Your device push token is stored securely and is only used to deliver these notifications. You can opt out of notifications at any time in your device settings.
